National Anti-Bullying Week 2019

At our school, we chose the theme of ‘Celebrating Uniqueness’.

Potato Challenge

Each pair had their very own potato to look at closely and notice its unique qualities compared to all the other potatoes! We then created a character profile, maybe naming our potato and creating a life story for it. All the potatoes were then collected in and mixed up. After that, we had to try and find our own potato again. We are pleased to say that we ALL managed to find them by their unique qualities. They are just like us!

Exploding Books

We found it harder to think about our own unique qualities so we talked to other people in the class about what makes each of us unique. We created exploding books all about ourselves to celebrate.

Anti-Bullying

We had a really good class discussion about how our school helps to prevent ANY unkind behaviour and what they do to respond to it. As we use the internet a lot, we talked about how we could prevent and respond to unkind behaviour online too. There were some really great ideas. This is what the children in our class had to say…

  1. Wow! What a lot you discuss and learn about together. Recognising your own potato is a fabulous way of looking carefully. What fun! … And writing a back story sounds hilarious 🤣 and imaginative 🌈✨

Thank you for posting your class ideas for looking after yourselves and each other. Great food for thought. I learned lots 🙂
