Bridge-tastic!

This term, Maple Class have been learning about the water cycle, rivers and bridges. To finish this topic off they have spent the week looking at different structured bridges and what makes them strong.

Maple Class were challenged to build a bridge that held a weight of at least 500g and span a gap of 25cm. There was also another hidden challenge and this was team work; being able to listen to others ideas and opinions and try to keep things fair.

To begin with, the children had to plan their bridge design thinking about what they had found out. Next they built their bridge before testing them. From there they then made some improvements before testing them again. All bridges then met the challenge criteria or improved.
