Newsletter #16

Dear Parents, pupils, staff and governors,

Welcome back to the summer term. I hope you all managed to have a good Easter Break. There are lots of new dates for this term. Please take a note of all the new dates listed in red at the end of this newsletter.

PTA Fun Run and Cake Competition

Mrs Granger emailed you earlier in the week with details of the Fun Run on 15th May and the Cake Competition for which entries are needed on May 13th. I know that entries for the 5k and 10k races have been steadily building and a great deal of work has gone on behind the scenes to make this event a success so I hope that as many of you as possible are able to support this event in some way.

SATS

There is a meeting for parents of pupils in Years 2 and 6 to find out a bit more about the tests and assessments that will be carried out in May on Thursday April 28th at 3.45pm in the school hall.

Osmington Bay residential visit

I’m sure that Years 5 and 6 are looking forward to the week-long stay at Osmington Bay in June. There will be a meeting for parents to find out about the visit on Monday 23rd May at 3.45pm. This is an important meeting so please make every effort to attend.

Breakfast Club

We are still looking to recruit someone to help run our Breakfast Club. If you are interested or know someone who is then please enquire at the school office.

Music

I would like to be able to offer an after school ukulele club to pupils in Years 2, 3 and 4 in September (i.e. pupils currently in Years 1, 2 and 3). The children in these year groups have had ukulele tuition through the Listen2Me programme and it would be fantastic for those who are interested to continue their learning.

The cost of the club would work out at about £35 per term and you would need to provide your own ukulele. If your child would be interested please return the slip below to the school office. We’ll need at least 13 children interested to run the club and I need to let Hampshire Music know of our interest by May 2nd. So far I only have 8 children interested.

Parking

Our Junior Road Safety Officer says: Please remember not to park in the car park at the end of the school day.
Kind regards,
