We have started looking at multiplication and division in Maple Class. Today the children worked in teams to make as many arrays as they could with their given number.

What arrays did they make with 20 cones?

4 x 5 = 20                                 10 x 2 = 20               20 x 1 = 20

 

What arrays did they make with 16 cones?

8 x 2 = 16

 

We then explored the similarities and differences of sharing the cones between 2 groups and putting the cones into groups of 2.
